ISO/TS16949 Automobile Industry Quality Management System

　　1. Introduction of ISO/TS16949 Standard

　　ISO/TS16949 automobile industry quality management system is the technical specification of international automobile industry. It is based on ISO 9001 and added into the technical specification of automobile industry. This specification is completely consistent with ISO9000, but more emphasis is placed on defect prevention and reduction of quality fluctuation and waste in automotive parts supply chain. The pertinence and applicability of ISO/TS16949 standard is very clear. It is only applicable to automobile manufacturers and their direct spare parts manufacturers. That is to say, these manufacturers must be directly related to the production of automobiles and can carry out processing and manufacturing activities, through which products can be added value. At the same time, there are strict restrictions on the qualifications of the manufacturers of the certified companies. Those who only have supporting functions, such as design centers, company headquarters and distribution centers, or those who manufacture equipment and tools for vehicle manufacturers or automobile spare parts manufacturers, can not be certified. The management of ISO/TS16949 certification is accomplished by IATF. They adopt the same procedural method to supervise the operation and implementation of ISO/TS16949 specification, so as to form a unified system of standards and operations all over the world.

　　2. The Conditions that Enterprises Should Have

　　ISO/TS16949 certification registration is only applicable to automobile manufacturers and their direct spare parts manufacturers. These manufacturers must be directly related to the production of automobiles, have processing and manufacturing capabilities, products must ultimately be used in automobiles.

　　Enterprises must operate normally and have relevant qualifications such as business license, CCC certification (if necessary), production and quality management records of at least 12 months.

　　For a newly established processing site, if there is no record of 12 months, it can also be reviewed. The certification company may issue a letter that meets the requirements of the quality system specifications upon review. After having 12 months of records, the certification audit and registration will be carried out.

　　It is basically the same as the ISO 9001 certification, but the time for obtaining evidence is relatively long and the audit is more rigorous.
